Mo Egeston All Stars & AhSa-Ti Nu "Celebrate the Groove: Hanukkah Hullabaloo After Party"
Join pianist and composer Mo Egeston as he brings his Celebrate the Groove concept back to his longtime home stage at the Dark Room. Egeston is part of the inaugural class of Kranzberg Music Residents where he developed a Saturday night event known as Late Night Grooves. He was also a member of Brothers Lazaroff for many years, so having this special event as the after party for the annual Hanukkah Hullabaloo makes this night truly a family affair. Taking inspiration from a variety of sources Mo E All-Stars create a unique vibe around the originals, reworks and arrangements of pianist Maurice "Mo" Egeston. Since his days with the pioneering live house/electronic project Urban Jazz Naturals, Egeston's music has featured influences of jazz, soul, Latin, funk and electronic music. With Celebrate the Groove, Mo expands the band’s sound by collaborating with like-minded vocalists and songwriters from the region including the diversely talented creative artist AhSa-Ti Nu.
A multi-disciplinary artist with work rooted in poetry, storytelling, sound engineering and activism, AhSa-Ti Nu utilizes her voice as a means of expressing soulful words in a contemporary context. AhSa-Ti Nu’s influences of gospel, jazz, rhythm and blues and rock continue to shape her goal as an artist: to create music that everyone can connect to emotionally and spiritually.
