With Mo Egeston All-Stars, Mo ( pianist and composer) has created a vehicle for his original music along with reimagined vocal favorites, creating a unique sound that blends elements of Soul, Jazz, Funk & Latin served on a bed of deep grooves. His Celebrate the Groove event was born during a residency at the former Washington Ave club Lola and was relaunched in 2021. The night features vocalist Jessica Butler singing special reworked arrangements of music by Jody Watley/4Hero; Robert Glasper/Norah Jones; Lisa Stansfield, Donny Hathaway/Roberta Flack, Adele/the Cure, Koop, Calvin Harris, Erykah Badu, MJ, Bobby Caldwell and more. Saturday 8/28 it’s time to Celebrate the Groove at Blue Strawberry with an evening of Funky, Jazz influenced Soulful music - Mo Egeston All-Stars style!. Pianist and composer Mo Egeston’s Celebrate the Groove event was born out of a residency at the former Washington Ave club Lola. Since 2021 has been a year of transition Mo decided that now would be a good time to revisit this event with a series of performances in the St. Louis area.

With Mo Egeston All-Stars, Mo has created a vehicle for his original music along with reimagined vocal favorites. Creating a unique sound that features a blend of elements of soul, jazz, funk & Latin served on a bed of deep grooves.

Mo Egeston All-Stars return to a full stage for the first time in 15 months! We had a great reunion grooving on the Royale patio in May. This will be the All-Stars first full stage and sound show with the original crew since March 2020 ...and that wasn't on the outdoor stage. We loved our Late Night Grooves lounge sets but our outdoor energy is just a little different. We'll be doing our unique blend of jazz flavored groove based music which includes influences of funk, Latin, soul, house and drum & bass. Kentucky Derby Party with Mo Egeston All-Stars & Jessica Butler

Press your seersucker, dirty your bucks, and box your fedora: Derby time is barreling down upon us! It is time to cheer on the ponies at the 16th Annual Royale Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday May 1st. We have a hat contest for both the ladies and the gents. Proper Derby dress code will be enforced. Doors will be at 2 with music starting around 3:30. The hat contest will be just prior to post time at 6:01pm and music will resume right after. We are Covid compliant, so mask up for entry and when up from your seats. We will have limited capacity, less than half of previous years. And I may have a special guest or two! This is a limited ticket, reserved seating and socially distanced event held under a tent on the parking lot of The Dark Room. Saturday May 2 Mo Egeston welcomes back Kranzberg Arts Foundation Music Resident Katarra Parson to Late Night Grooves!

Late Night Grooves is a music series that was developed by pianist and composer Maurice Mo Egeston in the early days of The Dark Room and continued as a part of his inaugural class residency with Kranzberg Arts Foundation. Mo continues to host most first and last Saturdays which will feature musicians who are influenced by jazz but also embrace a groove based approach to composition and arranging. Artists will blend styles such as nujazz, hiphop, soul, drum and bass, electronica, funk, Latin, house and more.

Featured artists will include vocalists and instrumentalists from the #STL soul, jazz and #groove scene with an emphasis on musicians from the Foundation's Music Artist in Residence program.
